Accessory boxes

Have you lost earrings and forgot where you left them? At NomadDesignsOnline.com we have  such an amazing array of shapes and sizes in accessory boxes. Choose from  intricate inlayed wood from Morocco to hand painted paper mâché from Kashmir to lacquerware from Vietnam and inlaid Mother of Pearl and decorative alabaster boxes from India. Whether you need a wooden hand carved box for cufflinks, sentimental treasures or an exquisite jewellery box, or tea box we have hand sourced our accessory boxes from various countries around the world. If you desire something very unique and made by Japanese craftsmen we have a limited number of boxes made with a technique called Japanese Marquetry. This technique is a kind of parquetry featuring elaborate inlaid, geometric mosaic designs making use of the diversity of the trees found in the region. The mosaics and marquetry work created with these local, natural materials means no stains or colourings are used.

Maybe it’s the intricate  paper mâché accessory boxes you prefer as this is one of the most popular crafts practised in Kashmir since the 15th century which involves a build up of paper pulp or layers of paper. The hand painted colours are made from natural pigments diluted in water to which some glue is added. The final boxes in  paper mâché are given one or two coats of varnish which gives them shine and serves as a protective agent.

If you are  looking for the perfect present for someone you care about, I’m sure you will find something to suit your needs.
